Whilst trekking through some of the most scenic areas in the north-west of Vietnam, you will visit and stay overnight in local homes where you will have the chance to get to know more about the local cultures.

Day 1: Ha Noi - Mai Chau - Hang Kia Village
Day 2: Trekking from Hang Kia to Van Village

Ha Noi - Mai Chau - Hang Kia Village (L, D)
You will be collected from your hotel in Hanoi to travel to Mai Chau, leaving behind the buzz of the city for the peace of the mountains. On the way, you can take in the beautiful scenery and make a short stop for refreshment. Upon arrival in Mai Chau, you will be met by a local guide and continue driving to Xa Linh Village. You can enjoy a delicious local lunch with a H’mong family. After lunch, you will begin your trek to Tra Day Village, home to a small Black H’mong community. From Tra Day Village, you have two trekking routes to choose from. The easier route takes a rocky path running through another H’mong Village. The harder route takes more time, with a trail uphill through the jungle and a dirt path through the terraced rice fields. Both paths lead to Hang Kia, a Flower H'mong village which is situated in a small and scenic valley. You will stay overnight here with a H’mong family. While your local guide cooks dinner, you can relax and take shower or stroll around the village. After dinner, you can treat your feet with a herbal foot massage which you carry out under the guide’s instruction.
Trekking from Hang Kia to Van Village (B, L, D)
After breakfast with your host family, you will begin another exciting day of trekking. After leaving the village, you will walk along a jungle trail for one hour. The trail could be a bit wet due to the dense trees which block the sunlight. After that, you will descend the hill, passing small farms and rice terraces. The scenery here is stunning with mountains, terraces and an expansive valley which stretches into the distance. You will take plenty of breaks along the way for refreshments and taking photos. After crossing a small river, you will reach a White Thai village where you will have lunch in a local house. After lunch, you are can take a short nap in the house or look around the village. The remainder of the day will be spent walking on a village road to Van Village. The road zigzags through the valley and past lots of scenic villages. You will have dinner and stay overnight with a Thai family.
Trekking from Van Village to Buoc Village (B, L, D)
This morning you will begin a 3-hour trek to Buoc Village. The path runs uphill and downhill and through bamboo forests, terraced rice paddies and farms. On the trek, you will see farmers out in their fields tending to their crops and local villagers going about their daily routines. You will reach Buoc Village at around midday where you will have lunch with a Thai family and have a nap if you wish. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a leisurely two-hour trek around the village. Weather permitting, at the end of the day, you can cool off in the stream near the homestay. You will have dinner and stay overnight in a homestay with the option of giving yourself another herbal foot massage before settling down for the night.
Trekking to Van Mai - Transfer to Ha Noi (B, L)
After breakfast, say goodbye to your host the family and enjoy the last stretch trekking along the foot of the mountains to Van Mai. From here, take a short drive to Pom Coong Village for lunch in a local house. After lunch, you will head back to Hanoi, arriving back in the city at around 17:00.
